 It has taken a long time (years) but I finally am able to tune into my "intention" and use it to affect my attitude more positively. The instructor, Julia Kalish, has shared two ideas which have tangibly made a difference in my coping abilities and lessened my anxiety.

I have thoroughly enjoyed taking Julia's classes. I learn something new each time and I wake up some very underused muscles. It really sets the tone for the day and the rest of the week. I would recommend yoga to all ages as it is challenging and relaxing all at the same time.

Yoga has made, and is still making, many changes in my life.  I started taking classes with Julia because I was attracted by the idea of a form of exercise that would value my mind, body, and spirit equally, but I had no idea what vinyasa yoga would really be like.  I found a physically active, emotionally satisfying class, with a warm, fun, intuitive teacher. The changes in my body have been the most noticeable.  For the first time in my life, I have clearly defined muscles in my arms, and I feel strong and powerful.  Lifting heavy things doesn’t scare me anymore.  I feel physically and emotionally empowered by practicing yoga; the challenge of doing things I’ve never done before, and succeeding at them, is slowly evolving into a sense that I can do anything, and that limitations are only  in my mind, or, at most, obstacles to be worked around. Julia’s thoughtful instruction and encouraging demeanor have motivated me to do things I never thought I could do. Robin M.
